Background
Sustainability is hardly important in the field of new building or restoration but buildings in general become more and more energy-efficient over the past years. Aspects such as life cycle costs, maintenance and repair or flexibility of use are hardly considered in planning.

Description
The development of an EDP-based tool for examination of existing or new residential areas as well as replanning of existing ones with regard to the sustainable dimensions. This tool should be used for first reflections of city planners as well as for the evaluation of  detailed planning of residential area. It should be used for the analysis of different planning options and thus offer criteria for the authorization by local authorities.
