Background
After the death of Kathy Beys in 1995 the foundation’s work was repositioned on a new enlarged basis. The foundation commissioned the Wuppertal Institute with a basic study for a strategic orientation.

Description
The charter of the Aachen Foundation defines the goal to sustain the natural basics of life which means resources. The corporate background of the foundation implied the main focus on sustainable management. The study "sustainable management"? was followed by a regional study including concrete elements for a sustainable regional economy in the sectors agriculture/food, forestry/wood, building/living, commerical transport and informal sector/new work forms.
