Resource Efficiency for the Post Carbon Society - Competitive Advantages for Germany
Period
March 2010
Background
Material and resource costs are by far the major cost pool in the producing economy. A consequent cost reduction offers large potential for increasing productivity and thus competitiveness of the high-wage country Germany. At the same time a decrease of material flows is required for the middle- and longterm reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Growth - but including reduction of resource use. This requires a modification of general conditions and is a challenge for policy.
